In brief: Your practice data and microphone audio stay on your device. Canu does not send them to its own servers or use analytics or crash-reporting services.

Data handled by Canu
- Microphone: Audio is analyzed on your device to estimate sung pitch.
- Optional recordings: Voice and piano audio are saved only when you enable recording.
- Practice data: Practice results, voice profile, progress, language, reminders, and settings may be stored locally.
- Sharing: A recording leaves the app only when you choose a destination in the iOS share sheet.
You can delete recordings in the app. Deleting the app removes its local data; device or iCloud backups managed by you or Apple may still contain copies.
Purpose and legal basis
Local processing is needed to provide the app functions you request. Where the GDPR applies, we rely as appropriate on performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before a contract, and on legitimate interests in secure support and reliable operation.
Apple, support, and hosting
In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple StoreKit. We do not receive your complete payment details. Reminders are scheduled locally through iOS; Canu does not run a push-notification server.
Support emails are processed only to respond to your request. This site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may process technically necessary access data such as IP address, browser information, and access time.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or object to processing. You may also contact a competent data protection authority. Write to support@canusing.com.
